Astrophysical Interpretation of Extraterrestrial Neutrino Flux Measured by IceCube and ANTARES Experiments

In the last years IceCube and ANTARES experiments collected the largest astrophysical neutrino sample ever obtained up to PeV energies. The investigation of the origin of these events excites the astroparticle community and several hypotheses are now under debate. Possible phenomenological scenarios made to explain the measured astrophysical neutrino flux are presented in this talk. In particular it is introduced a comprehensive model of radially-dependent cosmic-ray transport to calculate expected diffuse galactic neutrinos. In addition, the extragalactic component is also explored with a review of possible extragalactic source candidates. Lastly, the perspectives of the incoming Mediterranean neutrino telescope KM3NeT are showed.
